Air Fry Frozen French Fries

I got a new air fryer as a gift from my wonderful husband. I looked through the recipe book excited to use it but found to my disappointment that the included recipes were all too fancy for our everyday use. What do I need to do to use this thing for our everyday? So I played around with mine and let me tell you how easy this is.

  • Turn the air fryer on and preheat it a minute. Take a 2 pound bag of frozen french fries and dump it in the fryer. Yes, the whole bag at one time. Hit the french fry button and then hit start. Mine did 18 minutes at 400 degrees F. About every 4 minutes open the compartment and shake the fries around so they cook evenly. After they finish I dumped mine in a large bowl and added a generous helping of sea salt and a dash of Cheyenne pepper.

That's it. I might have added an extra minute to mine but my husband liked them the way they were. If you add time be careful not to overcook.

The picture is a bag of seasoned fries that just came out of the air fryer. In this case I only add sea salt.

Oatmeal Cookies with Kids

My kids love to eat these oatmeal cookies and they love to help with them too. There are lots of ways my kids help in the kitchen. Find a step stool and let the quality time begin.

First have the kids help you get out all the ingredients: sugar, coco, butter or margarine, milk, peanut butter, vanilla flavoring, and instant oatmeal. You will also need a cup for dry ingredients and a half cup for wet. I always use a half cup  for the milk and peanut butter. I use a full cup for the sugar and oatmeal.

I recently tried using a black walnut flavoring instead of the vanilla and really liked it as well.

It makes a special breakfast treat as well.

Oatmeal Cookies

1 stick margarine
